Farm Visit: HerbanLeaf

After exploring our nearby flower shop and discovering where all the trees, plants and flowers come from we decided to look into an alternative way of growing vegetables! In March, we researched several farming methods and the benefits and problems that each bring, we discovered Hydroponics and found out that we had a local farm called HerbanLeaf Farms LTD that farm in this fascinating and particular way! We decide to visit them and take a closer look!

Hydroponics is a form of gardening that uses no soil, but instead grows plants in a solution of water and nutrients. A hydroponic system can grow plants and vegetables faster and year-round. Plants grown this way usually yield more, require less space, and conserve soil and water. Therefore Hydroponics seems to go hand in hand with our goal as it is a sustainable way of growing vegetables and flowers for consumption. As part of our visit we experience the procedure hands on, from seed to final product. Thank you so much for having us !
